It would be hard to find more unusual or interesting guest speakers than this father-daughter duo.

Arthur and Helen have many times, through their positive thinking, defied all logic and baffled universities, engineers and experts from all walks of life by making the seemingly impossible, possible.

A motor mechanic by trade, it was the tragic death of his friend in the mid-seventies that saw Arthur close his workshop and become a full-time magician. The only problem was that no-one knew who Arthur Coghlan was so he needed to create media attention to get his career off the ground. Which he did. And how he did it was priceless. Since then he’s never looked back.

In 2007 in California USA, Arthur was presented with the most prestigious award in the world for escapologists – The Silver Handcuffs.

Arthur also received an OAM (Order of Australia Medal) in 2021 for service to the performing arts as a magician and escapologist.

Helen has worked alongside Arthur since she left school and is a top entertainer in her own right. She became the first woman in modern times to perform Houdini’s famous Water Torture Escape – all because of a challenge. Helen has performed at The Magic Castle in Hollywood, The Sydney Opera House, Las Vegas, Malta and has fooled the best in the business with Arthur’s unique tricks.

A fast-moving 2-minute visual presentation prior to their speech proves they have ‘been there, done that’ and in itself is most entertaining.
